Welcome
Welcome to Stone Road eco Farm. We are a family owned 35 acre CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm located in Hesperia, Michigan. We are extremely proud of our gardening and dedicated to supplying our many community partners and subscribers with absolutely the finest produce and farm products available, all of which are lovingly and naturally hand grown, tended and raised totally free of chemicals right here on our farm. You will really see, taste and experience the difference.
The recycling project we started with our partner Camp Newaygo has been an unqualified success. We have had several groups of youngsters from Camp Newaygo visit the farm and learn all about alternative electrical power and recycling. This has been a great and enjoyable project for both of us, and for the children. They seem to really enjoy themselves, as have Laura and I.
Our dedication to earthly matters, such as, recycling on the farm led us to another experience we had recently it was an eye opener for us and hopefully for you. We ask a few friends and neighbors to bring just plastics over for a couple of months and mortified we filled a one stall garage. We were very surprised that only a few families could create such a huge pile of trash in such a short time. We can make an impact on the world if we all start to recycle today. We will be bringing more recycling to this area. Here is to a safer earth.
We have found earth friendly ways to make cleaning products and would love to share these ideas and recipes with you. These products help reduce pollution and is healthier for you to use.
We have been very busy and there are a lot of exciting things happening here at Stone Road eco Farm. The wind turbine is up and has been supplying most of our electrical needs for some time. Our greenhouse is now heated during the winter months using hot water supplied by the wind turbine generator. This gives us great head start on our spring plantings and allows us to experiment with many different, unique, and rare varieties of vegetables.
We also like conserving energy by using wood burning stove in those cold Michigan months.
In the future we plan on building a energy efficient pyramid house. Not necessarily a dream home but an efficient comfortable home where we will create and make more dreams.
Our goal as a CSA farm is to continue to strive to improve our eco methods of mother earth friendly farming providing our community neighbors, friends, subscribers, and partners with only the very highest quality farm produce and products.
